Volunteer OpportunitiesPlease consider volunteering for the LWVDC Board, investigating child care issues, or registering voters. Details below. Calling All Future Board Members!Hello all Dane County Leaguers. Can we call on you to discover a hidden yen to serve in some capacity on the LWVDC Board? Contact Pat Levin (608-836-1176 or smlevin@tds.net) if you are interested in any way in serving on the Board. Taking a Look at Child Care in Dane CountyChild Care will be the focus of our League's Children and Families at Risk committee for the coming months. Plans under consideration include visiting day care facilities and interviewing parents, teachers, and other resource people, as well as learning more about the kinds of programs and facilities available. The issue of child care is critical: gathering information will be a real contribution to our League members and to the community, and we hope, will give us the foundation for action in the community. Would you like to be involved? (Of course, you would determine the extent of your involvement!) If you are interested in knowing more about this study, please contact Harriet Gorski (836-8302 or gorskijh@wisc.edu) or Dorothy Wheeler (244-4711 or djwheele@juno.com) Voters' ServiceThe League will be registering voters at the Farmer's Market at Hilldale State Office Bldg. as well as on the Square next summer. If you are interested in helping and haven't signed up yet, please call or e-mail Myrna MCNatt (831-5759) mdmcnatt@netzero.net. If you have ideas for places to register voters, please contact Myrna or the League office.
